Dr. Karen Walker is a general pediatrician who has been in practice for over 39 years. She has practiced in various settings from federal qualified health centers to non-profit clinics to her present position in private practice. She takes great pride in watching her patients grow from newborns to young adults to some of them now new parents themselves. She educates and uses a holistic approach to empower her patients and their families to take charge of their health.
Her clinical interest include breast feeding and newborn care; nutrition and obesity management; behavioral and school issues; and alternative medicine.
Karen Walker is founding partner of Pediagroup Associates, S.C., a private pediatric practice.
Walker has served on various committees for the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (ICAAP).
She was Chairman for ICAAP’s state-wide Committee on Obesity.
She also has been Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL.
During her time at MacNeal Hospital, Dr. Walker served on the Pediatric QA and Peer Review Committee, Committee on Immunizations and was elected as a member-at-large to the Executive Committee.

Karen Walker received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Chicago State University.
She attended Loyola Stritch School of Medicine where she received her MD degree.
She did her Pediatric Residency at Loyola University Medical Center and during her last year she served as Chief Resident.
