About Brandi Kleeger, RVT

When it comes to loving and caring for animals, Brandi Kleeger caught the nurturing bug rather early. Ever since elementary school, she felt a deep connect with the voiceless beings and was always on the lookout for ways to help them. This led her to volunteer for the Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) during her sophomore years, an association that works to train dogs to make them adept at assisting visually impaired people navigate through life. As she got her first taste of what she realized could very well be her dream job, Brandy’s time with the GDB became the first stepping stone to a long and enriching career in the veterinary field.

Brandi has a special knack for emergency medicine and is currently is working towards acquiring a specialty certification in Emergency and Critical care. She is learning from the best and honing her skills as she works alongside board certified doctors as the lead RVT in the ER/ICU department of her hospital. Tasked with the daily responsibility of looking after critically ill animals only reinforces her passion to serve them, and make them better.

  • Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from the AVMA accredited Los Angeles Pierce College – Woodland Hills, CA (2013-2015)
  • Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from the College of Sequoias – Visalia, CA (2013 to 2015)

 

License and Certification

  • Registered Veterinary Technician since February 2016.

 

Skills

  • Proficient in restraint, general and critical veterinary nursing care, emergency procedures, sample collection, anesthetic monitoring, performance of dental prophies, radiographs, and laboratory diagnostics including blood smears, cytological tests, urinalysis, fecal floatation, and laboratory machines.
  • Familiar with veterinary equipment including digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, anesthetic machines, anesthetic monitoring devices, and IDEXX and Abaxis laboratory machines.
  • Trained to use rehabilitation devices including a cold therapy laser and hydrotherapy tank. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, attentive and dedicated to patients, thorough, and a quick learner.
