How to Grow Thick Eyebrows Naturally

1 of 3

Thick eyebrows have always been in demand. Thick, well-shaped eyebrows can enhance your look, while thin and sparse eyebrows can make you look older and dull.

Many people end up with eyebrows that are too thin because of over plucking, threading or waxing. Sometimes, thin eyebrows occur as a result of the aging process, nutritional deficiencies, poor cosmetic application or medical conditions like hypothyroidism, eczema and alopecia areata.

Medical treatments like chemotherapy and radiation can also cause hair loss, including on the brow line.

If your eyebrows are too thin, you can easily solve this problem with the help of some natural home remedies.

Here are the top 10 ways to grow thick eyebrows naturally.

1. Castor Oil

Castor oil is one of the most effective remedies to boost the growth of your eyebrows. It contains protein, vitamins, fatty acids and antioxidants that nourish the hair follicles and promote hair growth. Plus, it is helpful in resisting any microorganisms that hamper eyebrow hair growth.

  1. Soak a cotton swab in pure castor oil and apply it on each eyebrow.
  2. Massage gently with your fingertips for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  4. Wash it off with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser.
  5. Repeat once daily for a few weeks until you notice improvement.

Note: Stop using castor oil if it causes any irritation or burning.

2. Coconut Oil

To enjoy dense and impressive eyebrows, you can use coconut oil. The various proteins as well as nutrients like vitamin E and iron in coconut oil promote healthy and thick eyebrows. It can also help make your eyebrows darker.

  1. Put a few drops of warm coconut oil on your fingertips and apply it on your eyebrows.
  2. Massage gently for a few minutes to boost blood circulation.
  3. Leave it on overnight.
  4. The next morning, rinse it off with warm water.
  5. Do this daily for 1 to 2 months to notice changes in the thickness of your eyebrows.

3. Olive Oil

Olive oil is also good for your eyebrows. Being rich in vitamin E, olive oil can help your eyebrow hair grow faster and thicker. It will also help keep it dark-hued.

  • Massage your eyebrows with warm olive oil for 5 minutes before going to bed. Leave it on overnight, then rinse it off with warm water the next morning.
  • Alternatively, prepare a mixture with 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil and a few drops of honey. Apply it on your eyebrows and massage for a few minutes. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then wash it off with warm water.

Follow either of these remedies once daily until you get the desired results.

4. Onion Juice

Onion juice also aids faster and denser growth of eyebrow hair. The juice has sulfur that improves the production of collagen tissues required for proper eyebrow growth. Also, it strengthens the hair follicles.

  1. Grind 1 small onion and extract the juice.
  2. Massage this juice into the eyebrows for about 5 minutes.
  3. Allow it to dry on its own and then wash it off with a mild cleanser and cold water.
  4. Follow this treatment once daily for several weeks.

5. Egg Yolk

The hair of the eyebrows is made up of keratin protein, and egg is a great source of protein. Thus, it can help improve the health of your hair, which in turn will make your eyebrows thick.

  1. Break 1 egg and separate the yolk from the white part.
  2. Beat the yolk until you get a thick, creamy consistency.
  3. Apply it on each of your brows with a cotton swab.
  4. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water.
  5. Use this protein treatment once or twice a week until you are satisfied with the result.

6. Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds can also help grow thick eyebrows. They are rich in protein as well as nicotinic acid and lecithin that promote hair growth. The seeds also help in rebuilding hair follicles.

  1. Soak 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in water for at least 5 hours.
  2. Grind the soaked seeds into a thick paste, then add a little coconut oil or almond oil.
  3. Apply the paste on the brows just before going to bed.
  4. Leave it on overnight.
  5. Wash it off in the morning with warm water.
  6. Follow this remedy 2 or 3 times a week for 2 months.

    1. I’ve tried to find so many things that will work fast and everyone’s hair has a different growth rate. The hair on my head grows fast but my eyebrows grow so slowly. So I don’t think you will find anything that honestly works in a week. (i’ sorry if I come off as rude i’m just giving opinions from experience.)

  12. I been using the castor oil for about three weeks. I am desperate for results. It seems like it’s working but hair isn’t growing in that well in the front part of my right eyebrow. I just see small improvement. I seen milk up here..was gonna try that. The castor oil I do see a little result. I saw something about shaving the area you want hair to grow in thicker off but I really don’t wanna risk doing that either. I just don’t know what else to do. How long did have to use castor oil for and or any other suggestions? Ladies help a girl out

    1. Hun. I see that you can try another mask , like olive oil , I tried it and it’s better than castor , so try it just when you gonna sleep and leave it overnight then wash it in the morning , 2 weeks I am sure you’ll notice the result .
      Hope it works

  13. I have been on this eyebrow growth journey for a long time. I’ve tried pure coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, tea trea oil, rubbing alcohol, onion juice, according vinegar, lemon, egg, and castor oil… none of it worked…

I have always had pretty sparse eyebrows not wide or full at all… but i only started trying to grow them out about 3 years ago.

When I tried the olive oil and the coconut oil I saw growth, but very little. I saw hairs starting to form and my eyebrows and lashes just looking a little healthier, but not the gains I was expecting.

4 weeks ago I started just putting water on my eyebrows along with the coconut oil and olive oil. I put a little cold water on my finger and wet my eyebrows and let them air dry. Then i put the oils on. I do this about 3 times a day. I’ve seen really really good results. I’m seeing more little hairs starting to come in and kind of a shadow on my eyebrows .My eyebrows aren’t like crazy bushy or as wide as I want them to be yet, but I really do see improvement.. anyways hope this helps

  14. Coconut oil remedy is wonderful… Since I live in Kerala, I could easily get pure homemade coconut oil… I never thought that coconut oil could do such wonders…. 15. Try the castor oil massage gently for 3 mins and then keep it for 30 mins, right after apply Vaseline twice a day and for the night try milk for a overnight or castor oil, don’t thread or tweeze leave them to grow out and you’ll get the best results ever,, in 3-4 months, then reshape them professionally :).. Hope this works with everybody

  16. I’ve tried castor oil, olive oil and coconut oil without the huge improvements. I just tried egg yolks and it works right away, I recommend this to others, who struggles with the other options

  17. the oil regimen really does work..i naturally have very long eyelashes people think theyre fake thats how long they are, on the other hand my eyebrows are naturally thin and spaced….i watched a video on youtube about how to grow thick eyebrows and the castor oil plus coconut plus olive oil were recommended. so i started using castor oil alone couldnt buy all the oils due to money constraints….my family and i have seen remarkable results in just weeks…its now over a month but i wont stop till they are as thick as i want them to be. Castor oil is worth the try so dont hesitate try it with consistency every night…God bless

  18. Any advice as to if the oils need to be “organic?” I see people used the term “pure” butmeant I wasn’t sure if they meant just pure or if by pure it meant organic. Can somebody please clarify? Thanks in advance!!
