Aloe vera gel and lemon juice have immense beauty benefits. Both help reduce dark spots and blemishes on your face, and even help minimize stretch marks. They also help heal acne and acne scars.

When used in your hair, they provide nourishment, prevent excess oiliness, eliminate dandruff, encourage hair growth and prevent hair loss.

All of these benefits add up to beautiful shiny hair and a glowing complexion. Regular application of this homemade recipe is highly beneficial for reducing suntan as well.

If you don’t already have an aloe vera plant, you may want to buy one for a continual source of aloe vera gel. Combined with lemon juice, you will have an effective yet inexpensive beauty remedy.

In addition to the natural properties in lemon that aid in beauty care, the lemon juice will prevent the aloe gel from turning brown.

    1. Thanks for being interesting in this post. You just apply a thin layer on it and sleep with it! Wash is the next day when you wake up. Sometimes I wear it under my mauekp in the morning

    1. You must add a few drops of vitamin e (natural not synthetic) which acts as a natural preservative. Prevents Aloe from going “off” whether it’s aloe shampoo, hair mask, face moisturisers. Anything that contains fresh aloe Vera.

  1. Questions. First, in using the aloe vera and lemon, do we shampoo and condition our hair first or after? Second question, how often can we do these? And finally, can we also use aloe vera to lengthen our eye lashes? Thanks.

    1. you need not shampoo your hair before using this mask. as for eye lashes, you could make an effective recipe by adding vitamin e oil in aloe vera gel and then apply. hope it helps!

        1. Make sure it’s not due to iron or other deficiency. My hair was falling due to anemia. A couple of months ago I started drinking wheatgrass juice every morning. My hair is growing back and the roots of my gray hair are brown again. I also put aloe Vera in the shampoo and in the conditioner. I hope it helps!

        2. Hello Zareena,
Wondering how you hair loss problem is going after 12 months. My husband lost all his hair suddenly in 3 weeks. It was an autoimmune disorder called Alopecia Totalis and we corrected by some herbs to balance the immune system again. Let me know if you are still having problems and I can direct you to these herbs. After 17 years he still has a thick head of hair – no more hair loss.

          1. Can you be so kind to share with me names of these herbs and how do I apply it, as my hair is falling a lot the last few weeks? Many thanks

    2. Yes, you can use Aleo on your eyelash and you have to put this mixture 1 an hour before the shampoo and after 1 hour wash it with a natural shampoo.

  2. I love this site! Any recipes for helping breakouts on neck? Also, exfoliating recipes? Can you substitute store bought aloe in bottle when making recipes?

    1. I don’t use shampoo in my hair, I use honey as shampoo and my hair is still very dark, black actually. Been using honey as shampoo substitute for well over 6 months now, love it!

  3. Wouldn’t the lemon lighten your hair? It is an acid and as far as I know acids will lighten what ever you put it on.

  4. I am happy and impressed to visit to site but lets see the results after use,,,,I’m dying my hair and felt a great hair fall and worried about the thickness of my hair as well as these are becoming lightened every day,,,,

  7. For Aloepecia Areata and drug induced hair loss. Follow this.. 1) Change your life style…Alkalize your body with more fresh and organic fruit juices…Eat less rice ..say no to rice..if its impossible, replace white rice with brown rice…first thing in the morning should start with drinking wheat grass juice (powder is available)…take Biotin supplement 10000 mcg..but make sure to drink at least 3Ltr water per day, Biotin is needed for hair growth and its a water soluble vitamin and needs a lot of water for absorption. Drink Aloevera, Amla juice from patanjali………Quit smoking…Quit all teas…some people think that green tea is good as it has antioxidants and flavanoids but new study says that it doesn’t make testosterone making DHT…it actually elevates Testosterone and DHT as well…DHT is the stuff that makes hair loss….so avoid all teas….do not consume foods that are acidic in nature…foods with pH below 6 are acidic………….if you alkalize your body,,your hair will grow back and you will live a healthy life with youthful outlook..incorporate dates, nuts and seeds like pumkin seeds, flax seeds…even 1tb Ghee is good as its pH is alkaline..but avoid all dairy products….change your life style from today…all the best…..

  11. the site is very useful with so many helpful tips.

i just would like to add a tip to this that when you peal the leave there will be a yellowish substance that will also show that you will need to wash off as it is not good.

  12. My hair never gets oily. It doesn’t matter how long I go without washing it, it never has oil in it. It is also .frizzy. As it dries it gets frizzier. When it’s completely dry it looks like I have a frizzy and bushy ponytail. Do you know of anything I can use to stop this problem for good?
