1. Immune Booster

Aloe vera is full of antioxidants, which are natural immune enhancers that help combat free radicals in the body. Free radicals are unstable compounds that are bad for your health and contribute to the aging process.

Drinking aloe vera juice regularly gives the body a regular supply of antioxidants, which can boost and enhance the immune system.

2. Enhances Skin Health

Aloe vera is one of the natural herbs commonly used in skin care products. It soothes the skin, hydrates it, nourishes it and accelerates the regeneration of new skin tissue. By applying fresh aloe vera gel on your face, you can enjoy well moisturized, glowing and flawless skin.

In addition, aloe vera can be used to treat sunburned skin, blisters, insect bites, allergic reactions, minor burns, inflammations and more. Even people who have sensitive skin can use aloe vera without any problem.

3. Regulates Weight and Energy Level

Drinking aloe vera juice aids in natural cleansing of the digestive system. There are many food substances that can cause fatigue and exhaustion, which you can combat by drinking aloe vera juice.

When consumed regularly, aloe vera juice will also help increase your energy level and help you maintain a healthy body weight.

4. Cures Gum Disease

Aloe vera is extremely helpful for your mouth and gums due to its natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. It also contains vitamins and minerals that promote cell growth and healing of bleeding gums and mouth ulcers.

When suffering from gum disease, just massage your gums with fresh aloe vera gel. You can also sprinkle some aloe vera powder on your toothbrush before brushing and within a few minutes your mouth will feel much better. Drinking aloe vera juice regularly also helps promote strong and healthy teeth.

5. Ends Constipation

Aloe vera juice has natural fiber that aids digestion and improves bowel movements. Being a natural laxative, aloe vera juice can also be used to treat constipation.

When constipated, drink two ounces of aloe vera juice daily. Remember that after taking aloe vera, it takes about 10 hours to get positive results.

6. Halts Inflammation

Aloe vera can be used externally to ease inflammation of joints and reduce arthritis pain. You can also drink aloe vera juice to reduce inflammation throughout the body. People who drink aloe vera juice for two weeks typically begin to experience a significant reduction of inflammation and pain symptoms.

Aloe vera is also considered an excellent home remedy for mild to moderate ulcerative colitis because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

  2. Hey, I don’t think they were talking about the processed form of aloe vera. it also has a half life of 15mins. It needs to be directly from the plant leaves inside. I suggest you buy a plant and use it from the leaves, don’t settle for less then that. Apply as much as you need and be generous. You may put tape over the area you use it for so it doesn’t rub off. I am not a doctor but i have been using it for 3 days or so for my cuts, scratches, scars from acne and burns. I have seen results I am trying to apply it at least 3 times to 5 times a day. My sisters wedding is coming up sat, I though my hands would be all scratched up but surprisingly I don’t think they will be. Aloe is very awesome. You will see results depending on how persistent and generous you are. Bless you guys try it out it works.

  5. Fascinated to read all this… been interested in this plant since I had sunstroke and applied some Aloe Vera Creme and got instant relief.
Later I researched it for a book on Depression I was writing and found more good things.
Then I was approached by a company who seemed to be offering me a job.. but it turned out they are the World’s largest monopoly on Aloe products and were a pyramid scheme I didn’t like. (£10 for a tube of toothpaste – are you kidding???)
Anyway, by coincidence I spotted an Aloe Vera plant in the Supermarket, so bought it to take home – during the Summer the little 6″ plant grew into a substantial cactus-like plant many times its original size. It also put out shoots, which I re-potted easily and they too took hold and grew.
I was happy that I saved money by growing my own (in the UK), though it doesn’t like frost or cold, so it needs to come indoors and go on the window ledge during the colder months. It is currently loving our hot Summer.
Then I learned there is a commercial prepration for Diverticulits and IBS and other stomach disorders – what it it? Aloe Vera basically.
For my book on Depression I discovered that depression is linked to at least 11 vitamin deficiencies – and your list (above) seems to have it all covered – with Aloe Vera. You wouldn’t believe how important some of these are for our health and most of us don’t get nearly enough of these vitamins and minerals.
Of course, my Mum is standing looking over my shoulder and saying “mehhh, how do you know that is true?”. Well Mum, I am going to check out independent sources in other books, websites and Herbals and see if it seems to be correct.
To use it, I cut off a nice fat leaf, trim off the outer green skin (which is POWERFULLY laxative and bad for the stomach disorders listed above) and what is left is a remarkable transparent Gel.
I liquidise it in smoothies and drink the stuff. There are videos on youtube explaining this and more. The plant just seals the wound and carries on.
Now that I have read your article I am going to invesigate and probably take more of this stuff, it does indeed seem to be a wonderful healing herb and marvellous source of vitamins, including manganese which is probably how it helps diabetes because we need that to make insulin.
On the Sales Pitch Course for the Aloe Vera Company they told us the founder was clever because this plant has no parasites or diseases, but this is not the case. Mine got some kind of disease. Possibly because I was not keeping it in the right soil. Next one I pot up I will use more sand. Anyway, again, I cut off the bad bits and it soldiered on quite the thing.
It is easy to grow, with very little care needed, except avoid getting it too wet or cold.
It grows quite prolifically, so you can soon have plenty to keep you going.
Money might not grow on trees, but this plant could save you quite a bit of money and be a brilliant tonic both internally and externally.

Really good for weight management too.
