I’ve had the a cold for the past 3 days. A cold is something I should never have because I have asthma and when I have a cold it always turns into bronchitis. I read this about the castor oil. Searched elsewhere too as I could not face swallowing it. Well enough, if you rub a generous amount of castor oil on your chest it will produce results. I coughed up what was in my chest and was able to sleep for the first time in 3 days. Now airway is free!

      • “There is no clinical or scientific basis for this. It is myth. Studies have shown over and over that there is no correlation between the two.”

don’t know what you are talking about! people have allergies to dairy products with symptoms of excess mucous and i am one of them, so your comment is rubbish about clinical or scientific basis. I GO BY EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE! RATHER THAN THEORETICAL BASIS.

  29. Just tried the steamed with eucalyptus oil for my wheezing and it truly helped! I can still hear a little wheezing, but not as much. I’m also going to try cod liver oil each day as suggested by my mother-in-law and drinking OJ. Also taking Ginkgo Biloba, Curcumin, Oil of Oregano and rubbing my chest with Vicks. Plan to try Vicks on my feet and cover with socks tonight! Suppose to be good for wheezing. Dr had me on Advair for two weeks and as soon as I stopped, I got this respiratory infection/cold. I hate conventional meds so I’m hoping to find a daily natural remedy to strengthen my lungs.

  30. Thanks so much for this. I’ve never had bronchitis before and didn’t have a clue what to do. Love the fact that all these ideas are cheap, natural and easy to do. Some over-the-counter medicines are so expensive and not very effective. Isn’t the internet wonderful?

  31. Might be worth trying a salt pipe too – I’ll probably try all of the above – this is my second bout of bronchitis this year – no laughing matter :-(

  32. These home remedies do help. Although milk is un advisable as it may causs mucis to build up or not dislodge. One should use hot teas or warm water instead.
Renember you will never find any medical source (from medical industry or pharmecutical) to confirm that natural remedies work. The medical industry has ruled that nothing can claim or say it cures or helps and or aids in healing and or curing unless ut is a pharmacuetical drug… obviously natural herbs and such are not pharmecuetical therefore can not cure, heal or treat. Thus can can not be claimed orofficially recognized as a cure, treatment or healer. The pharmecuetixal and FDA and that side of medical and government has made sure they had it outlawed because they cant make money off herbal when ppl can grow and obtain the ingredients themselves without them being involved..
Herbal remedies have been proven to work, aid, heal, and yes CURE many ailments, sicknesses, diseases, problems, infections, problems and whatever else.
As a practicioner of such and only use such I have experienced it first hand, watched ppl be cured of ailments using herbal.

  33. The garlic should not be boiled. The antibiotic chemical, allicin, is only released when the cell walls, or compartments, of the garlic are ruptured, and the chemical itself is quite volatile. It will not last long when heated, especially to a boil, and would be degraded to where bioavailability, the amount available in your bloodstream after digestion, would be quite low. I take it in some yogurt. It works well, and masks the bad breath caused by eating raw cloves of garlic. A glass of cold milk, or with any other dairy product would act just as well as a carrier for the garlic. Also, chew away. The more ground up the garlic cells, the more allicin can be fully released.
